GROUP INTERACTIVE NETWORK (GIN) SYSTEM LAUNCHES FACEBOOK APPLICATION

August 24, 2007, GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Group Interactive Network (GIN) System, a Gainesville-based provider of internet communication tools and websites for organizations, has released a Facebook application which integrates organizational information from its GIN Systems.

"We are thrilled to bring this application to our users," said Gabby Leon, Vice President of Customer Relations. In only a few days we’ve added over 1000 users, almost half of which are using the application daily. "Our members love that they can now get all of their group’s announcements, files, events, and more, securely, right from Facebook."

The Facebook application shows notifications of the most recent group information and includes a dashboard for viewing current announcements, upcoming dates, pending questions, discussion topics, birthdays, and more. Everything is hosted on GIN servers but fed through Facebook, so it’s still private and secure.

With the application, members can access everything posted by their group with one click, whether they login to GIN everyday or not. If users are members of more than one GIN System, they can more than one group to the application and see updates for all their groups in one place.

October 10, 2007, GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Group Interactive Network (GIN) System, a Gainesville-based provider of internet communication tools and websites for organizations, has released a new logos feature for its GIN System Facebook application .

The GIN System Facebook application displays notifications for the most current group information and includes a dashboard for viewing announcements, upcoming dates, pending questions, discussion topics, birthdays, and more. GIN System users who add the Facebook application can now add one of numerous custom-designed group logos created by GIN. Users also have the option to add text under a logo and to link the logo to an external website.

January 18, 2008, GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Group Interactive Network (GIN) System, a Gainesville-based provider of internet communication tools and websites for organizations, has released video demonstrations of its product features, now available to users via their website or a link from their chapter’s system.

"This is a great tool for our users, said Gabby Leon, Vice President of Customer Relations. Members can now watch short videos the demonstrate exactly how to use the various features of the system." Since they are posted online, the information is available any time, and any GIN user can view them, not just the group’s officers."

Posted videos cover each feature of GIN, including posting of announcements, files, and calendar dates, as well as managing the site settings, updating user information and tracking member finances, just to name a few. "Our system is easy to navigate," adds Gabby Leon, "but this is just another tool to help our users get the most from their system."

These videos are just one way the Company seeks to offer user support. PHI DELTA THETA TO LAUNCH NEW WEBSITES AND COMMUNICATION TOOLS FOR UNDERGRADUATE CHAPTERS AND ALUMNI CLUBS

Oxford, OH – November 26, 2007 – The 158,000 Members of Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity will be communicating with their brothers in an entirely new way starting in January 2008, thanks to an agreement recently signed with the Group Interactive Network System (G.I.N. System). G.I.N., the leading provider of web-based communications platforms to Greek organizations, graduate schools, social organizations and other membership groups will provide custom websites and member's-only intranets to Phi Delta Theta's 168 undergraduate chapters and over 100 alumni clubs worldwide. G.I.N. will work with Phi Delta Theta to develop external websites that both distinguish the Fraternity and enhance communication.

"Our primary goal is to create a unified web presence while providing a prominent and inspired website for each chapter," said Bob Biggs, executive vice president of Phi Delta Theta.  Phi Delta Theta's web presence and messaging will be consistent across the International and local sites.  Each chapter site will feature unique elements to help attract attention and provide timely content to visitors. "We started the process with Phi Delta Theta by discussing their objectives. Solutions include an International Console that provides a robust content-management system that facilitates the easy management of content across all G.I.N.-developed sites. April 4, 2008, GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Group Interactive Network (GIN) System, a Gainesville-based provider of web-based communications tools for fraternal organizations, has released Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment Applications for Facebook.

"We are excited about the potential of these applications," said Ethan Fieldman, President of GIN, and the applications' chief designer. "These tools will generate increased interest in recruitment registration and offer a powerful means for communicating what the Greek system is about. Unlike with a website, when a member adds the application or signs up for recruitment, others will hear about it in the news feed and mini feed, so word spreads."

The applications allow Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils to interact with potential members and parents, securely, in Facebook. Users add the application to get the most current information on the recruitment process, and they can invite friends to join as well. Designated Council officers can post recruitment brochures and other information about the Greek community, along with calendar dates and announcements. Since Councils manage the application, everything that is posted is controlled.

The application also features links to fraternity and sorority chapter websites and information like campus maps. Panhellenic and the Interfraternity Council can link the application to their current Greek life website as well as any recruitment registration program they may use.

• Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1987 and has 36 active chapters. A sorority based on serving the Hispanic community, Kappa Delta Chi will have a new national website with conference registration, members-only intranets for chapters, optional local website designs, and a national communication system that links the headquarters and member chapters.   “Kappa Delta Chi seeks to develop members as leaders, and we are committed to growing our organization and supporting our membership with the tools they need to maximize their sorority experience and develop personally. CAPITAL FRATERNAL CAUCUS LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE TOOLS FOR LOBBYING CONGRESS

July 7, 2008, Gainesville, FL –Capital Fraternal Caucus, in partnership with the Group Interactive Network (G.I.N.) System, has released a new website (www.fraternalcaucus.org) and Facebook application designed to reach members and advocates of fraternal organizations with innovative tools for supporting Greek-related legislation.

Users can visit the new website or add the Facebook application (www.cfcfacebook.com) to learn about important legislation and sign supporting petitions in just a few steps.  Signed petitions include each user’s contact information and personal comments, along with a picture and electronic signature. Petitions are issue-specific and targeted to the user’s representatives.  Congressmen and staff members can login to the application to view petitions from their constituents. 

"We are always looking for ways to expand our grassroots network," said Peter Smithhisler, President & CEO of the North-American Interfraternity Conference. "We know that the more individual constituent contacts a Senator or Representative recieves about a specific legislative matter the more likely he or she is to look into that issue and take a position.  In our case, more contacts equal chances to educate Congress about fraternity and sorority needs and that has been leading to more co-sponsors for our legislation.  This application makes it easy and convenient for fraternity and sorority students and alumnae to support important bills, and allows us to reach more people.  We will soon be delivering petitions with pictures of real constituents and their personal notes--instead of handing a Congressman 200 copies of form letters that may not get read.  We are thrilled to have these new tools available and appreciate the G.I.N. System's leadership in making this type of program available for us." 

The Capital Fraternal Caucus’ main focus is currently The Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act, which would allow tax-deductible charitable contributions given to educational foundations (such as the national foundations for fraternities and sororities) to be used for improvements to housing owned and operated for the benefit of college students. The bill would make it substantially easier to raise the money needed to install critical improvements, expand housing capacity, and otherwise modernize student housing. CFC has been conducting a grassroots letter-writing campaign in support of the bill. 

“As an undergraduate, I participated in the Congressional Hill visits, and the experience was extremely rewarding,” said Gabby Leon, Vice President of Customer Relations for the GIN System.  “Like others in our office, I also lived in my chapter house, so these issues are important to me and to the rest of our team.  All of us at G.I.N. are very excited to support the Capital Fraternal Caucus through the development of this Facebook application and new website. GAINESVILLE, FL, October 14, 2008- The Group Interactive Network (G.I.N.) System announces today the launch of four innovative technology solutions for the Greek market, all of which were developed when clients approached the company about a specific challenge for their organization.

"We are excited to work with Phi Mu on two new projects—an application for extension/expansion built on the Facebook platform, and a web-based system for convention registration," said Ethan Fieldman, president of G.I.N.  G.I.N. launched chapter websites and members-only systems for Phi Mu Fraternity last summer, and it was during Phi Mu’s Convention that the organizations began talking about tools for extension. 

The Go Phi Mu Facebook Application (www.GoPhimuFacebook.com) allows the Fraternity to post announcements, dates, website links, and more, for each new Phi Mu chapter/colony, "but even better," said Fieldman, "the Application functions as a public relations tool and registration database, so potential members can click to sign up, and when they do, it shows up in the Facebook News Feed of their friends and word spreads."

 "Phi Mu is pleased with the results and dedication of the GIN System team to deliver a phenomenal product," adds Phi Mu Extension Coordinator Christy Todd.

G.I.N. is also developing an online registration system for Phi Mu conferences and conventions. Members and alumnae can visit Phi Mu’s website to register and pay for Phi Mu conferences securely, online. The system launches in the spring and is similar to the system in place for several of G.I.N.’s other clients.

In addition to their work with Phi Mu, G.I.N. has partnered with Phi Delta Theta fraternity to bring online training solutions to its membership. With both recorded content on topics such as personal finance/taxes/mortgages and live webinars on fraternity topics, G.I.N. is delivering a full-service web-based learning solution to the Fraternity.  G.I.N partnered with Phi Delta Theta in November of 2007 to redesign the Fraternity’s national website and provide websites and members-only systems to chapters. G.I.N. also completed an online conference registration system for the Fraternity.

"Phi Delta Theta has leveraged the G.I.N. System’s broad expertise to address a number of our Fraternity’s technology needs. Since we have worked with G.I.N. on several other projects, it was only natural that we seek them out when we became interested in offering online training to our membership. G.I.N. has joined with Delta Phi Epsilon sorority to develop an application for extension built on the Facebook platform, and a web-based system for member badge orders.   The Badge Ordering system will allow members to visit a website to select, order and pay for member badges securely, online. Reporting tools automate the process for the sorority and Herff Jones, the sorority's badge vendor. The system launches in the spring. 

The "Be DPhiE" Facebook  Application (www.bedphie.com), allows for posting of announcements, dates, photographs, and website links for each new chapter; "what's more," said Fieldman, "the Application works both as a registration database and marketing tool.  Potential members can click to sign up, and when they do, it shows up in the Facebook News Feed of their friends and word spreads."BeDPhiE launched November 15.

"DPhiE is excited about the opportunity to advance our use of technology in these two areas," said Nicole DeFeo, executive director.  "We think they will greatly enhance our recruitment efforts and simplify the badge ordering process for new members as well."

G.I.N. TO DESIGN ZTA FRATERNITY WEB SITE AND INTERACTIVE TOOLS AND LAUNCH FACEBOOK APPLICATION FOR GOLDEN KEY INTERNATIONAL HONOUR SOCIETY

Gainesville, FL, March 24, 2009- The Group Interactive Network (G.I.N.) System announces its partnerships with Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity and Golden Key International Honour Society. G.I.N. is developing interactive tools, including Facebook applications.

G.I.N. is designing the new Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity (ZTA) Web site, developing visual styles, and incorporating interactive features in the new site. The Go ZTA Facebook application allows the Fraternity to post announcements, dates, website links, and more, for each new extension effort. When potential new members sign up via the application, it appears in Facebook news feeds of their friends, so the word spreads about the new colony. "This new application, developed specifically for Zeta Tau Alpha's extension efforts, incorporates G.I.N.'s features that can also be used by chapters participating in continuous open recruitment. Chapters manage the features locally and add their own events. Potential new members can express an interest in recruitment or respond to an event invitation. The Facebook application allows a chapter to reach more potential members and provides them with an efficient marketing and recruiting tool in addition to their own Web site,"said Ethan Fieldman, president of G.I.N.

Zeta Tau Alpha has 147 active collegiate chapters and more than 198,000 members worldwide, and is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. ZTA develops members' leadership, academic and service skills and promotes breast cancer education and awareness as its national philanthropy.

G.I.N. will also develop Golden Key International Honour Society's official Facebook application, an exclusive way for their members across the world to communicate. G.I.N. TO WORK WITH ALPHA CHI OMEGA AND LAUNCH I-PHONE APPLICATION

Gainesville, FL, April 15, 2009- The Group Interactive Network (G.I.N.) System announces today its partnership with Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity.  The G.I.N. System team is working with Alpha Chi Omega to develop the Fraternity’s public-facing website, a website content management system that will allow Fraternity staff members to easily update the site, and a presence in social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
 
Reflecting the Fraternity’s mission and tagline, “Real. Strong. Women.”, the redesigned website will provide an enhanced online experience to visitors and members and offer new ways to interact and connect with the Fraternity.  Alpha Chi Omega members will also enjoy an expanded content area that is geared specifically to Fraternity members.  G.I.N. will work closely with Alpha Chi Omega’s branding partner, Trajectory, and their database provider, Computer System Innovations, Inc., to provide a Web site experience that is interactive and incorporates member data from the Fraternity’s database.  “We are very excited about the upcoming launch of the new website.  G.I.N. has worked closely with us to start the process, bring together many pieces of the project, and facilitate the building of the site. G.I.N. also announces Apple’s approval and release of an iPhone application for the G.I.N. Members-Only intranet system.  G.I.N. users include hundreds of Greek chapters and other membership groups across the country that use the system to communicate with one another via text messaging, email listservs, online file sharing, private discussion boards, and more.  When the Facebook platform opened up to developers in the summer of 2007, G.I.N. released a Facebook application to allow members to receive their group updates in Facebook; G.I.N. now adds an iPhone application to that toolset.  The iPhone application will allow G.I.N. users to access their group’s phone and email list and other updates from their phones, and unlike most applications in Apple’s App store, it’s free to members of chapters who are using the System.  The Application can also be used on the Apple iTouch, free of charge.

While each user groups’ private information is stored on continuously backed up servers in an Orlando data center, that information is available at any time to users on the web, in Facebook, and now on iPhones.  “Undergraduates and alumni can access chapter and national information on the go—in whatever manner is most convenient for them.  Chapter members are always surprised to hear that we develop new features for them every semester (including this new iPhone/iTouch Application) while their monthly fee remains unchanged.  There’s simply no other service out there for chapters to use that has things like mass text messaging, an iPhone Application, a Facebook Application, and multiple email listservs.  And perhaps more importantly, no matter what new technologies come out in the future, we’ll always be ahead of the curve,” said Ethan Fieldman, president of G.I.N.

• Recommend a Potential Brother. If you know a current or future student who would make a great leader, fill out a recommendation form so we can expand our ranks. If you know a student at a school where a Phi Tau chapter does not exist, fill out the form for expansion consideration.

The Link and Resource Library will stay live for the rest of the year before moving to “archive” status. Our intent is to allow you time to transition to our new site and other technology offerings.

Two years ago, the Fraternity embarked on a new technology initiative to define the direction of Phi Tau in its second century, The Link, our members-only website, was intended to support the five statements of action in the Fraternity’s strategic plan: alignment, recruitment, service, education and leadership, and improve our infrastructure to better support members, chapter and programs. 

While The Link and Resource Library have served many purposes—a warehouse for Phi Tau information, news and resources, networking tool for undergraduates and alumni, and chapter reporting system—we want to build upon that innovation and improve our ability to share information, offer more learning opportunities and provide for greater networking among brothers.
