“Together Let Us Seek the Heights”

Welcome to the official website for the Alpha Chi Omega, Gamma Upsilon chapter at the University of Houston!

Here at the AXO Gamma Upsilon chapter, we believe that your time at the University of Houston should be an experience to treasure for the rest of your life. Since being founded on UH’s campus on February 11, 1956, Alpha Chi has stayed dedicated to promoting our strong sisterhood, leadership abilities, academic excellence, service in our community, and the life-long friendships we continue to create.

Alpha Chi Omega was founded on October 15, 1885 in Greencastle, Indiana at DePauw University. Our colors of Scarlet Red and Olive Green were chosen to commemorate being founded during fall. Our symbol is a Lyre and our official flower is a Red Carnation, which represents our colors.

The mission for Alpha Chi Omega is to exemplify a national women’s organization that enriches the lives of its members through lifetime opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning and service. With more than 200,000 members nationwide, 13 chapters in Texas, and over 130 active collegiate chapters all over the United States, ΑΧΩ believes in being Real, Strong Women.
