FOR HOPE, FOR STRENGTH, FOR LIFE
Delta Gamma offers to women of all ages a rich heritage based on principles of personal integrity, personal responsibility and intellectual honesty.
Its primary purpose is to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and develop the finest qualities of character.
Delta Gamma Women’s Fraternity was founded in 1873 by Anna Boyd Ellington, Eva Webb Dodd, and Mary Comfort Leonard, three friends who were stuck at school over the Christmas holidays. Since then, Delta Gamma has grown to 146 collegiate chapters in the US and Canada and 230 alumnae groups worldwide, all with the purpose “Do Good.”
Zeta Nu chapter at Montevallo was founded in 1990 and is part of the first and only pair of sister chapters: Zeta Xi-UAB being founded the same day. Since then, Delta Gammas have been an important part of Greek and campus life at Montevallo, giving members lasting friendships and amazing opportunities.
